Education Corps will host an election night watch party on Tuesday, Feb. 9 in the FEMA Room of the Jacksonville Police Department. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be open to the public and press.
The group and its supporters have campaigned for months to see the approval of a 7.6-mill that will make way for school improvements to the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District. Funding will allow for a new elementary school and a new high school to be constructed, along with improvements to other schools throughout the district.
“We’ve worked so hard on this for several decades and we pray the voters in the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District will approve the millage to help move our children, schools and community forward,” Laura Walker, spokesperson for Education Corps said. “We want to say thank you to everyone for the outpouring of community support we’ve received during our campaign and we encourage them to join us to see all of our hard work pay off and our dreams realized.”
