"If we're investing this time and money in the community to bring them a new school, then hopefully some of those lights will go on in their minds. Hey, I can use education as a tool to go out and create a new life and then bring that back to the community."
Like all communities with a military base, we fight rigorously to prevent the loss of not only the base, but also of its individual components. To lose even a single plane from the base would mean losing jobs.
These people have our best interest at heart, especially our children. It's time for us to join forces together to support these efforts in the Jacksonville area. We voted to detach. And now it's time to move forward and say we can do it without a shadow of a doubt.
As one of Jacksonville’s oldest civic clubs and as a leader in spearheading youth and family recreation projects, we believe this is one of our best opportunities to serve our community and improve the lives of those who need help.
